About Me
The person behind the numbers.
I'm David. I teach plain-language investing because I've been where you are: working hard, watching the balance stay flat, quietly unsure I was doing it right. I'm not a Wall Street guy. I figured it out slowly, and I want to save you the years I lost being confused. The whole idea: knowledge compounds, and confidence follows. Investing isn't all of who I am, though. Here's the rest.

My day job
I lead Managed Services across Asia-Pacific.
I'm the Operations Lead for Managed Services across the Asia-Pacific region at Insight, a global technology solutions provider and a Fortune 500 company traded on the Nasdaq as NSIT. I own the profit and loss for Managed Services across the region and lead the teams that help organisations run, support, and continuously improve their technology environments after they have been implemented.
Working closely with clients, technical teams, and business leaders, I focus on delivering reliable services, improving customer experiences, and helping organisations realise greater value from their technology investments. Making complicated technology simple is the same instinct I bring to investing here.
Connect on LinkedInHow I use AI
I found AI, and now it helps me in almost everything I do.
Discovering what AI could really do changed how I work. Now I lean on it across almost every part of my life, to think faster, learn quicker, and get more done, and I have built a few tools of my own along the way.
Elevia Technology
Elevia is a family of applications that helps developers, creators, and everyday people turn intention into action. The philosophy is the same one I bring to everything: remove the friction, keep what matters, and build tools that are calm to use. Vela is one of them.
Visit Elevia Technology ↗Vela is an app that helps you show up for the goals you set, and keep showing up. Gentle daily nudges, honest check-ins, and streaks that build real consistency, turning good intentions into the small actions that actually add up. Accountability that grows with you.
Meet Vela ↗One place I stay careful, though, is investing. Real money means real risk, so here the person stays in charge, not the algorithm. AI can run the numbers and explain the ideas, but the patience, the judgement, and the discipline have to be yours. That is exactly how I teach it: human first, AI in support.

Off the clock
The same patience applies here too.
This is Cookie. When I'm not talking about index funds, you'll usually find me training her, one calm, repeated habit at a time. I also volunteer as a trainer at Hobsons Bay Obedience Dog Club in Melbourne, where we teach with positive, reward-based methods and meet every Sunday at 10am.
Turns out the thing that grows wealth also grows a well-behaved dog: small steps, done consistently, with a bit of patience.
